Hi All,
As you know we've been undergoing significant technical remediation over the past 12 or so months. I could not have possibly taken this task on myself without the help of Rohan "RoTo" Thomas, who joined us late last year.
I'm now on holidays up in Noosa and have a good chunk of free time and so have seriously started hooking into the full re-write of the NatureMapr main web site! We've needed to do this because the original platform that the web site was built on is approx 5 years old and in the tech world, that's a very long time.
So we've setup the new NatureMapr BETA site in the background, rather than continously disrupting the existing live site. This new site, for the technically savvy, runs on the very latest .NET Core 2.2 platform and aims to be significantly faster and significantly easier for us to maintain compared to the existing live site.
There is still a fair bit of work remaining (I.e. most pages don't exist yet) but I will aim to have as much of this completed as I can during my holidays before I get back to Canberra in late July.
Mostly it will be a like for like replacement, but there will be some subtle differences. Once the new BETA site is completely finished, we'll aim to do a live change over so that it completely supercedes the current live site.
