Thanks, Tapirlord. The calyx? seems to be split into 4. They flower rarely and close to the base of the plant. This is the first time we have seen them throw up a longer flower stem of about 7cm.

Adults lay eggs on flower stems during winter and the larvae eat into the stem, feeding on flowers even before they open. "
