Within the last 5–10 years the name has been updated to Lateristachys lateralis .

Which NatureMapr's taxonomy already has .
Hence _Lycopodiella lateralis_ is a synonym of this updated name.
Hence this sighting of yours requires re-identifying by this updated name and this name _Lycopodiella lateralis_ reduced to a synonym within the _Lateristachys lateralis_ species page .

I am catching up with this too.
When i first learned this species in the late 1980s i think i recall it was named _Lycopodium laterale_ R.Br. .
