User's notes

Sighted at the entrance t Wallaga Lake. Appeared like a clump of seaweed, travelling upstream on the incoming tide. Reared ap to reveal red underbelly when passing by photographer.

This is very likely O. tetricus but not possible to tell with 100 per cent certainty from the photograph.

Maori Octopus to my eye. Dark Rust colouration and it appears to have diagnostic finger like papillae on mantle. But hard to be 100% certain.
